Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp to launch The Green Lantern this November

Legendary writer Grant Morrison (Batman/ All -Star Superman) has teamed up with Liam Sharp (Wonder Woman/ The Brave & the Bold) to embark on a kickass space journey featuring Hal Jordan in The Green Lantern. The book is set to relaunch Hal Jordan's run as a Green Lantern, and feature him as an intergalactic space cop.

"Instead of the big, epic, 12-part stories, we’re focusing down on the everyday life of a space cop. Basically, it’s no more apocalypse-ending storylines... The basic concept is that [Hal Jordan] is like a space cop that patrols a sector of the universe where anything can happen. We’ve made it more like a police procedural." Morrison reported to IGN, before continuing, "We’re doing Hal Jordan where, you know he’s a good cop, but is he really a good guy? And we’re looking into his relationships and how he deals with people. And also the fact that, if you’ve got a job as a space cop, it’s hard to be stuck on the planet Earth. He has other lives on other planets. We’re gonna be looking into a lot of things that I don’t think we’ve seen a lot with Hal Jordan before."

In DC's Meet the Publishers panel with Dan Didio and Jim Lee, Sharp revealed that Hal would come across the wrecked ship of a fellow Green Lantern - much in the way he met Abin Sur and was introduced to the Green Lantern Corps - but this particular ship held some of the most dangerous villains in the galaxy... and now they're free. Sharp also described Hal as having a "simplistic" approach to being an Green Lantern and using his constructs, calling him an "idiot savant."

This sounds pretty standard for a Green Lantern story, but I know with talents like Morrison and Sharp, we're in for a good, well-written book! What are your thoughts? Will you be picking up The Green Lantern?
