Aquaman looks really good! I'm happy to see that Mamoa has scaled back a bit of the "bro-ness" that he pushed in Justice League. That's not to say that I didn't like him in Justice League, just that he looks a little more true to character here. The one thing I can say with certainty though, is that if this film fails, it will not be because of James Wan. Visually, Aquaman looks incredible! The underwater scenes are beautifully shot, exciting, and introduce us to a new world, and I hope this is only the first of many, many visits. Wan has also managed to capture the essence of Indiana Jones and Star Wars, so I'm curious to see if Warner Bros. plays that up as they ramp up their marketing campaign. Aquaman may be the butt of many people's jokes, but if the studio can deliver the goods, this just might be DC's saving grace in film!
